The Woodbury Parks and Natural Resources Commission (PNRC) is looking for volunteers to participate in the 2018 Bike and Pedestrian Count.
The group is seeking help the following dates and times:
- Saturday, Sept. 8, from noon-2 p.m.
(Rain date is Sunday, Sept. 9)
- Tuesday, Sept. 11, from 4-6 p.m.
(Rain date is Wednesday, Sept. 12)
Through data collection and user observation, the commission hopes to raise awareness of Woodbury residents’ use of alternative transportation modes, quantify changes in walking and bicycling patterns over time, and help identify safety gaps in bicycling and pedestrian networks in Woodbury.
The count data will also help quantify pedestrian and biker traffic patterns and identify factors influencing walking and biking. Conducting the count annually provides data related to changes in pedestrian and bicycle traffic patterns.
Locations for the counts have been selected by the PNRC, with community input, in coordination with the Transit for Livable Communities. If you’d like to help improve the walking and biking experience in Woodbury, consider helping with this event.
To volunteer, email your name and contact information to firstname.lastname@example.org or (651) 714-3583 no later than Friday, Aug. 24.
